How to Record Your Voice with Mixcraft

by Rick Osborn on November 3, 2009

For those of your who are curious or are just looking for a quick way to record your voice, whether for singing or for podcasting, Mixcraft offers a great solution. Below is a simple video overview that tells you exactly how to record your voice using Mixcraft 4.5. For those of you who own a Mac, I’m sorry, but it only works on a PC. Fortunately, I’m able to use both Mixcraft and GarageBand. In my opinion though, Mixcraft is more versatile, hands down. And you can’t beat the price for what you get.

Here are some important things to remember when recording your voice with Mixcraft:

  1. Make sure your mic is not too hot – keep it in the green. (I demonstrate this in the above video.)
  2. Check your input and output settings for recording & playback. (I demonstrate this in the above video.)
  3. Do a short practice run before your final recording to make sure all of your settings are where they need to be.
