In the interest of staying true to all of you recording enthusiasts, I wanted to make you aware of a new iPad app that’s pretty awesome by Tascam. It’s called, Portastudio, and is available now for download at iTunes for $9.99. I purchased and downloaded this app just before the holiday season and have yet to really use it, given the busyness of the Christmas and New Year’s season. Nevertheless, for all of you who have used a Tascam 4-Track Recorder in the past, this nifty app should prove to be pretty exciting. Of course, this doesn’t detract from my enthusiasm for Mixcraft. It’s always a good idea to try other methods of recording vocals and instruments.
The amazing thing about the Portastudio App is that it pretty much works just as well, if not better (given the digital upgrade), than the old Tascam 4 Track portable studio. I should know, I used to have one and thought I was hot stuff for it. Another amazing thing, is that this handy little application for the iPad is a mere fraction of the cost of the old 4 Track equipment.
